Why I Became a Dentist

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to actually shadow a dentist one day while studying chemical engineering in college. I immediately took to the environment and the challenges it presented, plus I loved a dentist’s ability to improve someone’s life so easily—whether that consisted of repairing a broken tooth or relieving their pain. After that one day in the office, my path was set, and I eventually made my way to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.

Education & Training

While in dental school, I did a lot of advanced training beyond the basic curriculum. I worked in a special needs clinic, and I even did additional training during my residency where I gained invaluable experience working with geriatric patients and using dental implants.

I have since kept up my education, focusing on a wide variety of clinical skills to improve my level of care. In the past, I have taken courses focusing on endodontics (root canals), restorative dentistry, sedation, and dental implants. I also work diligently to stay on top of the latest advancements in dentistry by maintaining active memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry and the Southern Oregon Dental Society.

My Mission

The primary reason I joined Premier Care Dental-Medford was to have the opportunity to work with patients ages 50 and older. I really like serving these kinds of patients because it gives me the opportunity to make a big difference in their lives, whether that involves fixing an old dental problem or upgrading their existing dental work. I strive to provide most procedures in-house so my patients can get everything they need in one convenient location. I and my team also work hard to accommodate our patients in every way to always deliver a comfortable and fulfilling dental experience.

Away From the Office

When I’m not with patients, you’ll most often find me spending my free time like many other Oregonians, enjoying the outdoors, whether that’s camping or hiking in the beautiful mountains. I’m also an avid racquetball player. Of course, most of my spare time is committed to my wife and 3 daughters, attending all of their various events and activities. In my rare free moments, I also enjoy reading and trying my hand at cooking as well.
